Welcome Friend, I am Taylor Langeland
When I first picked up a camera, I never imagined where this career would take me. For a few years, Indiana was home, the place where I built my business, photographed hundreds of incredible couples, and learned the meaning of intentional storytelling.
But this past September, life brought a new adventure: my husband’s job relocated us to Austin, Texas. We packed up our lives, traded snow for sunshine, and found ourselves in one of the most vibrant, creative cities I’ve ever experienced.
Falling in Love with Austin
here’s something magnetic about Austin. The colors, the light, the creative heartbeat, it all feels alive here. From the laid-back energy of Hill Country venues to the modern charm of downtown weddings, every corner of this city has a story to tell.
Learning about Austin through the lens of my camera has been my favorite part of this transition. Photographing weddings here gives me a front-row seat to the city’s diversity, from intimate backyard celebrations under twinkle lights to elegant soirées at venues like:
- Wild Roots Getaways & Gatherings — a hidden gem that perfectly blends nature and modern design, surrounded by soft, wild landscapes and golden light.
- The Arlo — elegant, bright, and timeless; every detail here feels curated and intentional. This venue reminds me of where I was married and is so nostalgic for me!
- The Oaks at High Hill — warm and romantic, with rolling views and oak trees that frame the most beautiful sunsets.
- The Grand Lady — historic charm meets elevated style, full of character and refined Texas beauty.
Each venue has its own rhythm, and every couple brings something new — which makes every wedding day feel like a fresh story waiting to unfold.
Building Connection in a New City
Moving to a new city when you own a photography business is hard, and I'm certainly still learning how difficult it is.
I arrived in Austin knowing no one in the wedding industry, and one of my biggest goals has been to connect with other Austin wedding photographers and creatives.
This community is incredibly talented and welcoming, and I’ve loved getting to know others who share the same passion for documenting love stories. Collaboration and connection are such big parts of my creative process — and building those relationships here has already been so inspiring.
A New Chapter for Tay Lang Photo
Even though I’ve started fresh in a new city, my mission remains the same: to photograph your wedding like it’s the most important day of my life, too.
I still limit the number of weddings I take each year so I can give each couple my full energy and focus. Every image is edited by me, every email comes from me, and every interaction is genuine.
