Indiana Weddings still feel like home
Even though my family and I now call Austin home, I still feel such a deep pull toward photographing weddings in Indianapolis, West Lafayette, Lafayette, and Columbus. Indiana is where my photography journey began. It’s where I learned how to slow down, look for the meaningful moments, and document love the way it naturally unfolds. It’s where I learned to serve others — and serve Jesus — through this business.
"And so this blog post is simply that:
A love letter to the weddings, the people, and the places in Indiana that still shape the heart behind my work."

Late Sunsets and Golden Hours That Last Forever
One of my favorite things about Indiana weddings, especially in June and July, is the way the sun just… refuses to set quickly. This surprises me EVERY time!
That long golden hour gives us so much time to sneak away, breathe, and create portraits that feel gentle and unhurried. For me as a photographer, those summer sunsets are pure magic. Whether I’m in a downtown Indianapolis venue courtyard or a wide-open field in Lafayette, the lighting feels like a gift.
What Makes Indiana Weddings Different
If I had to describe Indiana weddings, especially in places like Indianapolis, West Lafayette, Lafayette, and Columbus, I’d say this:
They feel like home. Not because of the buildings or the venues, but because of the people. Indiana couples care deeply about community. They prioritize their relationships. They focus on the meaning of the day, not just the production of it.
Backyard ceremonies, family-made florals, simple reception spaces, homemade desserts, these things photograph so beautifully because they're rooted in love. They’re rooted in the kind of intentionality that lasts.
Why I Serve Indiana Through Photography and Through Jesus
Photography has always been more than a job for me. From the beginning, it has been a way of serving Jesus by serving people, by showing up on one of the most important days of their lives with gentleness, skill, and genuine care.
Being a Christian wedding photographer shapes how I approach every wedding day:
I pray for my couples. I work with humility and care.
I photograph with gratitude, knowing every story is a sweet gift.
Even though I now photograph most weddings personally here in Austin, I’m deeply grateful to continue serving Indiana couples through my incredible associate team — photographers who share my heart, my approach, and my commitment to honoring God in the way we care for people.
If You’re Planning a Wedding in Indiana…
Whether you’re getting married in:
- Indianapolis
- Lafayette/West Lafayette
- Columbus
- or even your own backyard :)
…I would be honored to document it.
Indiana weddings remind me of where I started, who I am, and why I love this work so deeply. They remind me that love doesn’t need flashy backdrops or big productions to be beautiful, it just needs people, presence, and purpose. And I would love to capture that for you.
